The "selfie" movement

Nowadays there is this fashion picture known as "selfie". It consists of taking a picture of yourself and posting it on the social media: Facebook, Instagram and I think it is also starting in Twitter. But as all good things it has the bad part.

Acording to a study done in the US it can cause a lot of insecurity in women, specially for teenager girls.They are constantly looking at pictures of their friends, celebrities and even from people they don't.This cause teen girls start being gelous from all them. The worst is that it can produce dangerous consequences on eating desorders because it is like a subliminal message for girls to lose weight.

However, I do take loads of selfies and I think it's funny when I'm bored.

On the one hand when looking at other girls I get gelous sometimes but in a good way. Like I'm gelous of their clothes or their incredible bodies but that doesn't mean I'm not happy with what I have. 

On the other hand I think being very skinny is not nice and I recomend everyone loving themselves.

I wish ,specially for girls, that they would stop hating their bodies and apreciate what life have give to them. And if they don't like their bodies thay can always do other alternatives like doing sport or serious diets instead of killing themselves by having eating desorders.

Fashion bloggers

Nowadays, thanks to the social media, we have the called "Fashion Bloggers".

Fashion Bloggers are created by girls mostly who love fashion in general. They take pictures of themselves, now called selfies, and then they write a post like we do but they write about their style. You can find pictures of hair styles, nails (manicure), clothes, shoes, compliments,... 

I follow the on Instagram another social media very popular at the moment. It's nice to follow them because it can give you different ideas to combine colours. Even if you don't know how to dress one day you can look up their pictures and they can give you nice and cute ideas.

In addition you find colour combinations you never think they would be right and they actually are. I love fashion and following them it's a way to be updated with fashion around the world. But of course they look beautifuly in their dresses, shorts and skirts and when I try them on I don't like them. 

There are a lot of Fashion Bloggers, the most famous in Spain is "Dulceida" and from around the worl a very know one is "Song of style". 

Creating these Blogs is another way to get famous and people envolved in fashion look at their ideas and they might be contracted to be Models. For example the girl from "Dulceida" is a famous model at the moment. She explains you her experience as a model explaning her style and her ideas.

Benetton's Rana Plaza Protesters

A Benetton factory falls in Bangladesh killing 1134 people and injuring the double. In the ruins there were Benetton labels and the clothes brand didn't want to pay the compensation to the survivors and  the families. 

Protesters celebrated the first anniversary of the factory fall chaining their hands and necks in Benetton's shop in Oxford Circus.  

There are clothes companies like Primark, which they company is located in the Raza Plaza building. They have started to pay the remuneration to the survivors and families of the victims tragedy. 

People who are protesting think that $40 million dollars must be payed by Benetton's for their compensation.

Why is black chocolate healthy?

It sound too good to be right but cience has discovered the reason why black chocolate is healty.

The first reason is because it helps to restore the flexibility of arteries. The second is because it avoids that lukocyte get sticked on glassblood walls. This two reasons are the most important thing in atherosclerosis.

They have innovate a new black chocolate which contains flavanol and it effects the flavour and so the addiction. 

I am personally addicted to chocolate and knowing this is not good for me because I know I will spend the rest of my life eating chocolate with the excuse that is healthy.

A mummy mistery

The Spanish newspaper EL MUNDO finds a coffin from 3.600 years ago, inside there was a mummy from a men about 35 years old of age. This fact took place in Dra Abu el-Naga, Luxor, cemetery where the Spanish arachaeologiste were digging for 13 years alreday. 

The coffin was perfectly, no damage at all. As I said it is from 3.600 year ago and since then nobody has touched it. It has a fabulous decoration from a big artist of the ancian Tebas. It has amazing colours and a variety of signs and draws. It was found in a well of 4 meters depth. The coffin is 2 meters long and before opening they only know that its name is Ned and that he died around 1600 b.C. 

There aren't as many coffins as this one because they only were used for a very short time. It was when Tebas became the kingdom capital.

For the bonds found inside the coffin with good condicions the aracheologists were able to say that the mummy was someone of middle age, between 35 and 45 year old. As the squeleton is in good condicions they might foung the causes of its death.

I remember when I was in primary school (5th year) the teacher made us do a mini-research project about any topic we liked. And I choose the Egypcians. Because I as fascinate with the mummys and the coffins they made for them. I've always though that it is a very interesting and entretainment topic what's more don't you think it is curious?

KEYSTONE: The big bomb of carbon

Nowadays the president of the United States of America is going to take part in an important enviromental decission which is going to say a lot of his post. He is going to approve or deny the construction of a giant pipe to carry 830.000 barrels, (160 litres each barrel aproximateley) of the most dirty petrol of the world, from Canada to The USA. 

This project is going to help earning millions of dollars to a few compannies while it is going to send out millions of tones of carbone dioxide to our atmosphere on the other hand.

If we protest against it we can stop this toxic plan.

John Kerry the responsible of exterior relationships in the USA has oppened a popular referendum.He knows that his decission is very important for the United States to demostrate that it is ahead of the fighting against the climate changing process.

In my opinion we could join our voices to protest against this polluting plan.

To the President of the United States, Barak Obama, and to the Secretary of the States,John Kerry:

"We, critizens of the world, feel strongly motivated when Secretary Kerry said that the enviromental destruction was the most powerful weapon against the world and he engaged the fight against it from the USA. In Hollywood most actresses use botox to improve their physical appearance, or what's more they test cosmetic surgery until they become slaves of social aesthetic.

It might be an empty mind the one that only cares about physical body care. I can understand that it is very difficult to be one of the most beautiful actresses and being choosen by importnat directors in successful films.

Although the most intelligent option would be choosing a healthy life with sport, food and pure oxygen and being good at what you love. In this case: acting.

On one hand we must accept that time runs and that wrinkles are the proof of wisdom, and on the other hand society and fashion patterns press us, women, to keep as young as possible.

What I really think is that the true beauty is inside, in your personality and character. People, womenmust believe in what they are, not in what they look alike. 

I would like in this short article to critisize the Princess Letizia for being so pretencious and arrogant in the fact of looking for physical appearence perfection. She's been offensive in my opinion for the use of surgery to improve her image. Sh'es been choosen by a prince with her genuine image...so, what else can she expect from her new image?

To end I want to say that simplicity is  a very important quality of beautiful women. It's a kind mixture of qualities, is what you are.

Roses, 21ts of February

 

As you must know this week the party most people wait for is arriving. The town hall has organized a shocking performance opened to all teenagers from all high schools and parents. The aim of the performance was to make everyone aware of the negatives consequences alcohol or other substances can produce.

 

This was on during all day long d in different actuations and it took place on  Frederic Rahola's square. The town hall has created a campaing called "Per Carnaval no tot si val" (for Carnival not everything is permited) representing what could happend on a Friday night.

 

All studients had a big surprise when they entred and didn't hear any talk about the topics refered to Carnival, instead they saw the performance and they could experience so close the bad use of alcohol or drugs and its consequences. What's more they even showed a video of a stomach cleaning caused by  a ethylic comma.

 

 

 First of all well done for having this idea because it makes people sensitive. A lot of teenagers get to know the world of partying in Carnival because in these nights they have a lot of freedom and older people abuse of it and the other way araund. The young follow them like crazy because they hear that partying this way is the best and as a first experience is too much. Most teenagers think that the best of going out is to be drunk and take some drugs but it istn't.

In Ukraine a thousand of people were on the streets allover the country. They were fighting during a couple of days because they want to be free, free from a dictatorship and from the political who work only for themselves, who are ready to give violent orders like shooting, beating and injure their own residents. 
Their only pourpose is to make sure they will have money, make sure they will have the mansions they have and make sure they will save their power.
The people who are on the Street want to have dignity and they are brave. In addition they just want to have a normal life. They are civilized people but their gvernors are barbarians. 

As a conclusión this is not the Soviet Union. They ask to their courteous not to be corrupted and they want to be free. Tomorrow they might not have phones or internet conection and they will be by their own there and maybe police men will murder them. This is why we have to help them by sharing this information to anyone.

We all have freedom in our hearts and heads but we need that the people who takes control of our country gives us real freedom. We have the right to feel it.

Strikes aren't enough!

As you know the Goverment in the latest years has made some reforms in some areas. One of the most affected is Education. They have reduced teachers salary and in some cases they work more hours than before. What's more the right of the worker says that they have to recieve two extra pays for winter and summer holidays and both have been reduced a lot too. 

In Catalonia there is also the problem of the language they say Catalan is not important and it should be reduced as a foreign language as English or French. But they don't see that Catalan is part of our culture and nation and it will always be with us. 
Anyway, the education section ,including teacher and students, organized strikes every month moreless but we obtain any positive result, less now with the new law of Wert. I feel like my country is not developing, it's going backwords. What about Anna Botella? She rediculized Spain in front of the entire world!

If you ask foreign people which words they know in Spanish; the first two words they come to know are: "siesta" and "fiesta". What an image of Spain do they have!!!
The Goverment requires to all studients in College certain level in English and they aren't capable to have a conversation in English !!! 

What I want to say with all this is that strikes don't make any effect, we have to think of another way to hurt and harm the Goverment. But we have to be all together there is no point if we are only a few trying to make a change. 

YES WE CAN ! 

New York

A train wrecks in New York next to a river before turning. In this tragedy four people died and more than sixty were hurt. The accident whic left some of the wagons upside down, was questionated to be for the excess of speed, mechanic problems or a human mistake. 
The train had 150 passangers, the train wrecked at 7.20 am when it was about to turn where the rivers Hudson and Harlem cross. It was one of the biggest accident America has experimented with death consequences. Now this train line is still closed whic harms the people who used it to go to work. But the Goverment has put busses which will take those passangers to an other train station.

It's hard to hear this on a sunday and I send my best wishes to all the people involved in this.

Paul Walker death

Paul William Walker was an actor from EEUU most known as Brian O'Conner in the movies of Fast&Furious. He died yesterday (30th of November) in a car crash.
His mother was a famous model and his grandfather a famous boxer. He was nominated as the sexiest man in the People's magazine.
He went to college to study marine Bioligy and in 1991 he graduated.
It is said to be that he was a person who helped a lot with charity work. Yesteday he was going to a charity event in Santa Clarita ( Southern California, not too far from Los Angeles).
Walker was with a friend, Roger Rodas, who died too.
They were driving a Porsche which its speed influenced in the crash, I guess. They crash first with a lamppost and then witha tree. They both were trapped in the car while it was burning in flames, they couldn't move.
Nowadays he was on the project of makinf Fast&Furious 7.

It's a shame that someone loved like him has passed away with only 40 years of age.

Miley Cyrus

Miley Ray Cyrus initially known as Hannah Montana from the TV serie of Disnney Channel was a young, cheerful and funny character. She was known as a singer for girl teenagers.  When she grew up and the TV serie finished, she continued singing by herself and she actually made some good songs. What's more she also took part of two famous movies: Hannah Montana and The last song. 
However that is not all her professional work; she is the voice of Penny in the movie Bolt and she also has a character in Sex and the city 2 and she appears in two episodes of Two and a half man. She has been one of the most known singers teenagers (under eighteen years old). When she finished her TV serie apart from all this work she attended to many television performances and she was invited to music festivals. 

When she reached the 18th, she started to have bad influences and her look got complitely changed. Nowadays she has created a lot of controversy for her last actuations. We all had this beatiful, peaceful and respectable image of her but lately it seems that she doesn't respect herself, and if she doesn't who will respect her? She apeared in the music Awards (this year in Amsterdam) nearly naked and smoking a joint. The video of her two last songs are about sex, drugs and drink. In the second one she looks vulgar, she is complitely naked!!! What kind of society are we living in? 

When she had her first interview after this big impact she gave us, she said that she only does it to be famous and she didn't want people remembering her as Hannah Montana the good and cute girly. She only cares about money and she said she prefered people to talk bad about her than nobody talking about her because Hannah is the past and nobody remembers her anymore. 

It's her life and she can do whatever she wants but do we have to permit famous doing this things in public? How come they gain the amount of money they do?

"A psychiatric center is a house of torture"

This new is from La Vanguardia a Catalan newspaper and I read it in the psychology class and it kept my attention. 
It was about a woman who was send to a psychiatric center because obviously doctors though that she was crazy. But she had this inteview and it's quite funny because she actually says things about society that are so true.
First of all she doesn't understand why she had to had a tag under the same illness of others in the center. She thinks everyone should have a tag not only people with illness. 
Her friends send her to the hospital when they saw her talking to Janis Joplin and Camaron. And she still thinks that is something so normal. She thinks her madness is produced by the medical treatments she is set to. What's more she says: "There are a lot of people who are fucking crazy and without medical treatment. However they lead newspapers, TV shows, banks, countries, football clubs... 
She also complains about the maner they treat ill people, they are like rubbish and always left behind. She explains that the only thing doctors do is eliminate their emotions; like this they won't disturb them. 
All this ill people take pills and the Goverment pay the Pharmacist industries for them. "What a business", she says; they put this treatment into children like this they will be buyers until they die. 

To end she says that crazyness is only for people who dream alive and I agree so much with her!!!

Who can talk?

Did you know about the experiments about chimpanzees? 

Kanzi is a Bonobo male from 31 years old who was born in Lorel (University of Emory), then he was moved to the Research Center of Languages in the University of Georgia. 
I actually come across this new in the psychology class, I though it was a nice topic to talk about. 

In short from the video we saw in class we can conclude:
Kanzi could communicate with someone who wasn't present (by phone call). And he recognized the voice after a few days.
He understads the concept of a promise and wants the people to make it happen.
He recognizes the feeling of being guilty and he has the hability of empaty.
He knows how to play with fiction; a brother of him has a mask of a monster and he runs away from it; just to play and for fun.
He also has the hability to planificate how to solve a problem and to find solutions. What's more he is able to make tools by him self.
He understands the order of the sentences when talking and the grammar.

In the video we could see all this and to communicate of course he didn't speak. He always had with him a machine which contained about 200 words. Everytime he pressed a button of it the machine would pronunce the word Kanzy meant. 

I found this curious and interesting to explain. We do know that chimpanzees are the most similar animal to us but I don't think everyone is aware about their capacities and the things they can do.

WERT

Wert says that if only one parent or a child in the classroom complains about the teacher/other children speaking in Catalan they'll have to speak in Spanish compulsory. 
But it seems like the goverment don't agree with this law and they want him to change it.
What's more obviously Catalan people are against this law, haw can we eliminate a language just like that? It's not necessary for the Spanish people to learn Catalan but at least in Catalonia I think it is the normal thing to do. Teens when finish school they already know two languages for sure. And let me tell you that two languages well known written and spoken actually help to learn others. 
From my pont of view it doesn't have to do with if you are Catalan or not, because I considere myself Spanish but I don't see the point on doing something like that. We aren't hurting anyone for speaking Catalan.

PARKING IN EMPURIABRAVA

Since last summer they have tried to put paying parking. And this year they have acquired. But the population is very angry with the town hall. People say that this is going to make tourist away. People who have locals like restaurants, pubs or shops say that it's so unfair. Because noone will go then because of the paying parking. My mum says that we won't be driving with the car in Empuriabrava. We'll have to cicle or walk. This is another way of stealing money and people won't saty with their arms crossed this time. There are a lot of gossips going around that people will break the machine or that they will ignore it. 
I think it's stupid because it's so unfair for the people who live here like me. I'm lucky that we don't live by the beach or in the center. But I can imagine Saturdays cars all over Empuriabrava first of all because it is market day and second because it is the day of changing apartment. I can already see cars parking anywhere and a huge mess in the center. 
Something that I have very clear is that noone from my family will pay a euro for this.

HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATIONS

When I was reading The Universal Declaration of Human Rights I could realize that most of them are not respected in any part of the world. I wonder why were they invented if people act as if they weren't there. It's so unfair because only rich and "powerful people" can "save" their lifes but people who live in poor countries are condemned to suffer any injustice. 


For example:
Article3.

Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of person.
Every year in China men kill their daughters because there are overpopulation and only boys can inherit the land of his parents.


Article4.No one shall be held in slavery or servitude; slavery and the slave trade shall be prohibited in all their forms. 
Nowadays it is said that slavery is more common than before.Kevin Bales teacher of Sociology in the University of Roehamptom has made a study and says that 27.000.000 people still live like slavers. 
Obviously the slavery is a different kind from the one before. Those persons don't have any type of salary and they are under the control of someone. They are transported to other countries promising them they will have a better job and salary. But once they arrive to the destination they get worst jobs and they are exploted. 
They can be exploted sexually, forced jobs, organs trade,...

I don't understand how can we live with a relax conscience knowing that in this right moment there are so many people submitted in such conditions. We should do something to change the world but as I said before those who are rich have the power. Still we must manifest in crowds and make them realize that they are wrong and we need to change. 

CINEMA

The studies of Disney want that Emma Watson to be the new Cinderella of the new adaptation from the most known book. 

Emma Watson after doing Harry Potter has become a famous actor. I must say it's a good opportunity for her to do such a paper in a movie for children. I think it's going to be a great movie!

GOSSIP

Rihanna was interviwed in ELLE magazine and she said she probably will have a baby with Chris Brown because they considere themselves adults and they can do thing right.  
After being back together it seems that their relationship is perfect. They have left behind the fights and trouble. 
Rihanna said that she would like to work with less stress because she wants to form a family with Chris Brown. Chris answered that he wants to have children too. But they both think that it is maybe to soon to be parents yet. And I agree with them because she's only 25 years old and he's only 23. They still have plenty of time to form a family. 

Rihanna is my favourite singer and artist and I completely admire her.
